Marie Hagen
Marie Hagen brings over 16 years of project management experience to Lewes Tech, covering multiple domains. She supported residential and commercial construction projects, managed mission-critical information technology infrastructure and intelligence programs, and served as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force.
Most recently, Marie established and documented the end-to-end business processes for a residential home builder. She ensured their processes were repeatable, scalable, efficient, and effective – not only from the builder’s perspective but also to consistently engage each customer throughout the build process, resulting in happy homeowners. Marie also documented process requirements to ensure the company’s IT systems, interfaces, and schedule dependencies were synchronized to provide team members with user-friendly interfaces, efficient automation, consistent accountability, and detailed reporting. In addition, she created a continuous process improvement program to document “lessons learned” and seamlessly integrate them into the build process while maintaining ongoing construction in 13 communities. She created a training program from scratch with videos and printed materials, then trained over 75 team members on the newly-documented processes. Marie also established an automated customer satisfaction survey so the team could immediately address their feedback. This gave unprecedented insight to enable prioritized resource allocation for each home build, as well as for demographically-targeted marketing messaging, design changes, and team member evaluation.
Previously, Marie supported national security missions for the federal government, She built a program to integrate commercial imagery best practices and tool sets into government imagery intelligence programs. She also developed feedback mechanisms and reported on user issues and success stories, coalescing a broad, disconnected user base. The execution of these mechanisms resulted in an expanded user footprint and product reach, greatly improving the government’s return on its investment.
Marie also enabled the successful turnover of 2.4 million square feet (the size of two aircraft carriers!) of newly constructed facilities to the federal government on a fault-intolerant, Congressionally-mandated schedule. She created unique tools and techniques to effectively manage, track, and communicate critical milestones on the $2.1 billion military construction project. In addition, Marie led a team of 20 subject matter experts to define dependencies within the overlapping turnover activities, avoiding costly and unacceptable delays. She brokered consensus and effectively communicated conditions for successful completion of construction/subcontractor activities, while meeting the strictest IT and physical security standards.
She also has extensive integrated schedule management and analysis experience with large IT systems integration projects. She managed large, high-visibility technology-based projects, managing complex dependencies, interfaces, testing, critical path analyses, and tight accreditation schedules.
Prior to her civilian career, Marie was a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force, serving five years as a communications officer. She was the Program Manager and administrator for a $20 million air-to-ground communications network, which served the nation’s leadership in times of crisis. The network provided secure and non-secure voice and data for the President’s Air Force One, the National Military Command System’s National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC), US Strategic Command’s Airborne Command Post (ABNCP), and US Navy’s Take Charge and Move Out (TACAMO) missions.
Marie is a proud momma to two awesome kids and is stoked to call the great community of Lewes, Delaware her home.
